Journal Entry #7
Tyler and Sam seemed very stressed throughout the
duration of their lesson. It appeared as though they lacked sufficient
communication between one another, and communication was lacking with their
fellow co-teachers.
On the first day, one of the co-teachers who created the
lesson plan was missing, and this left many of us dumbfounded. There was also a
spot for an activity that was not yet completed, nor was there a back-up lesson
plan in place. Because of this, Victoria and I had to create a Jeopardy game
with less than 10 minutes of time available to us. Although it all worked out
well in the end, it was a very difficult struggle to gather all of the
necessary materials and and sufficient SOL questions in such a short amount of
time. The pair of Sam and Tyler were open to suggestions for the next day of
their lesson which I believed helped them a lot.
On the second day, everything was a lot better as
expected, and this has slowly become a trend with all of our lesson plans. Come
day 2, I was ecstatic.
Not only was I ecstatic, but the students were too. Being
in the back room on both days, I was able to see the students enjoy and learn
with the Jeopardy game that Victoria and I developed.
The game required a lot of teamwork and communication. At
times, the students were a tad hyperactive at times, but I feel that Victoria
and I did a good job of keeping the students on task.
It was great to see the enthusiasm in the students faces and I
feel that Sam and Tyler did an excellent job with the theme. The carnival theme
went well, and the kids seemed to enjoy.
